hey guys sorry im new to the forums ive searched around but however i havent got a straight forward answer.. well i have a 72 rx2 and im trying to run carbs on it. they are dellorto sidedraft 48. well i was talking to a buddy of mine and he said you need to switch out the front cover from the 13b to the 12a, to run the12a distributor for carbs. however my other friend said that you wouldnt need to and its just a slight timing advance difference. So its going back and fourth to me? can you guys please seem to help me out? THANKS IN advance !

A 12a dizzy will drop right in....

 

no cover change necessary.....

 

First friend is wrong. Second friend is right. 13B has 1 degree higher total advance.

 

the 12A front cover is identical to the 13B cover...
