I checked the NADA value on my car (if it were in saleable condition
)
The high value is $4225! Isn't that what they sold for back when they were new?
83 gsl, btw

Yes, Greg, I made the point myself that my car is hardly saleable.
NADA is the source for classic autos. There's NADA and KBB. Depends on where you live is which you're more familiar with. I use both, but don't trust KBB on their classic values.
So, if a GSL-SE (85) was 16K, we can assume the GSL was around 13K? What's the inflation rates on this?

i think the gsl was right around 12k, you gootta remember, the gsl-se had alot more **** than the gsl ( taller 5th gear, different ration LSD rearend, better suspension, bigger breaks, glass sunroof standard, etc.....)

The NADA high retail value for a 1983 GSL is actually $4,275. The high retail value applies to a vehicle purchased from a dealer, in "excellent" condition. "Excellent" does not mean #1 condition or even like new. Nevertheless, dealers often try to stretch the limits of the category.
The original 1983 GSL MSRP was $12,595. They often sold for higher amounts, and I have an 83 invoice for $13,770.
This vehicle would be in excellent condition overall. It could be a completely restored or an extremely well maintained original vehicle showing very minimal wear. The exterior paint, trim, and mechanics are not in need of reconditioning. The interior would be in excellent condition. Note: This value does not represent a "100 Point" or "# 1" vehicle *.
I remember my old man telling me that he wanted one back in '83, but $13K was too much for him. That's what my boss told me it sold for as well. He paid $13,251 according to the window paper/sticker/tag thingy.
Well, my boss sold her to another co-worker, who treated her like crap. Then he suggested that I try buying it off the guy, and, although I payed as much as the guy did for it (when it was in IMMACULATE condition except for the paint) I was glad to take it for the sake of the car, and my love for RX 7s didn't help the cause
Just have patience, you'll find yours. Albequerque? I just saw that. Try coming farther down here by Cruces. There aren't MANY, but they've been popping up lately.
You just have to expect to pay.
Good luck, and we should get together when you have yours (not many NM get togethers!)

Hell yeah, I can't wait to get mine running
There's this town down here, starts with a C, has a Spanish name. It's like Chaparal, but it isn't. If you're willing to do some work to get it running, there's LOTS of X's in the graveyards, er, scrapyards down there.
