**** this ****. "reset mesage" doesnt re-post the message. it resets everything you spent 10 minutes writing.
in general what i said was:
not to dis on you, but a normal car that goes really fast is not as cool as a sweet car that isnt quite as fast, in my opinion.
so i'd go for the nicer looking fast car than a faster but plain car.
i'm doing a series 5 turbo setup. would the RB 3" downpipe fit nicely on my fb w/ the tii installed? Stock turbo and manifold.

Thanks again guys!
ioTus- in my opinion your opinion is wrong I'm not saying I want a ******* car that goes fast, I want a nice car that goes fast. You won't find clear tailights or shinny mufflers on my car. As you can see in the pic's I'm about to post the muffler is black and the lights are normal (I don't like a lot of attention drawn to me). I have done some upgrades to the car becides the engine. Eiabach springs, tokico illuminas, polyurathane bushings, -se brakes/rear. After these tires wear out on the -se rims I plan on getting a nice set of black or gunmetal wheels that can hold some wider rubber, 15's maybe 16's. I'm sure down the road I'll have a bigger brake setup in it also.
People have used the RB downpipe but it hangs kinda low. It's better/cheeper to make your own exhaust anyways.

Had to throw another engine shot in there
The interior still needs to be put back together but you can see what a half -se and half 83 int looks like anyways.

Very nice job. My hands off to you for taking your time and making the engine bay look clean.
I have done the TurboII conversion and you are right about the money and labor time.
Again Nice Job

Chuck man, dont take your hands off! Its just not worth it!! no jk man!!
Hey setzep, did you use paint on your exhaust down pipe? Did you paint it all the way back?
What kind of paint did you use? It looks very nice.
I'm doing a 3" exhaust, but neither me or my friends know how to weld, so we are going to get it done by a shop.
Did you buy the turbo-to-downpipe flange?

well setzep, did you loose control of it yet pullin out of the driveway. j/j Very clean looking car, most people call them sleepers , i like to tell them that its what lies beneath that counts. i have plans to buy the racingbeat muffler and just build the rest as you did. the reason for the muffler is it fits nicely in the factory spot. which muff did you go with?

chuck- yeah these suckers aren't cheep! I remember when I first started this project it was going to be just a stock T2 engine,ECU,turbo and N/A trans. I figured I could do it all for under 3k. Yeah.... then it all snowballed.
I just hope mine is somewhere near as fast as yours.
ioTus- yup, painted flat black. 1200 deg "ceramic" paint. We'll see how long it lasts on the DP but should last a while on the rest of the exhaust. I got the flange with the turbo. Yeah the janbs are black. How do you mean zoomed out pic's? You want to see what it looks like from farther away??
LTProject- haha... not yet. What RB muffler are you talking about? I thought the only one they sold for 1st gens was a small one?? They offer a 3" in-out one? This muffler here is a magna-flo I think.

Looks great Cam!!
Very clean install. The car looks great too. Today I went to an Auto-X and rode in a friends Frankenstein SE-Turbo. It put a a new fire under my ***, to finish it.
I got a video of the ride too.
God willing, I am going to finish her soon!!
BTW, the tech-edge wideband is awesome, and I have tested it directly against the dyno wideband. It's perfect!!

good place to start the learning is sticky thread at the top of the 1st gen section. If you have any questions just search or post, one of us probably been there, done that.

your right setzep they dont sell a 3" muffler, but i thought i read somewhere in here that it was pretty tight to run a 3" pipe all the way back. Did you go 3" all the way, and if so howd it fit up?

LT- Yup 3" all the way back, take a look at those pic's ioTus reposted. Fits great.
kuhlrx7- I hear that! When I first started this project in sept of 2000 soon after I got layed off So that kinda put a hold on lot things untill I found another job 6 months later. Plus it gets damn cold up here in Minnesota in the winter, makes it hard to want to work on the car when it's -10 deg F.

Hey!
That's an awesome car! I'd love to see it sometime. I'm keeping my 'SE pretty stock-at least til it blows up, but want to do a turbo conversion to my 'vert. (It's slow as ****...)
I'm going to Midway to an impromptu Rx-7 gathering on July 12. Maybe your car will be ready by then? I'd love to see it in person!
By the way, sleepers are the way to go in my book, too!
