Heater/AC question

Ok so the one is obviously my blower motor but the other appears to be specifically for the a/c so can I just bypass it?

Simple answer - YES. Complicated answer - You need to take the actual evaporator out of the plastic box and then plug the excess holes (duct tape is good enough). Then reinstall the box as it is needed for proper vent function.

Could I not just replace it with some kind of tubing?

Original cars that came with no ac came with a duct that connected the blower to the heater plenum, if you wanted to go to the trouble to find one in a junk yard you could, or you could fabricate your own.

Yeah I figured I could probably throw somethin together though I still have to complete the mission at hand which is remove the heater core without removing the entire dash.

I just did that and it is possible, but not easy, you can take out the glove box and duct work and pull it out towards the passenger side, I did it. However I ended up taking the dash out and in my opinion it would be easier tojust take the dash out to begin with , its not that hard, I would reccomend not taking the top of the dash apart from the bottom structure, you can take out just a few bolts and take them both out together, just label all the wires well and its not that big of a deal.

Nope, I was pretty disgusted at the time. I had just rehabed my ac and was laying on my back getting ready to reinstall the evaporator coil and looked over and saw coolant dripping off the heater core fittings, the last thing I wanted to see.

I think I might use one of these if it's the right diameter.

May I ask why you want to remove your heater core? Is it leaking or otherwise damaged? If not I would personally keep it in there as you may need it for defrosting windshield or if it happens to be a cool rainy day and you are driving it. Just my opinion.
