Headlights not working

Hello all I have an 1984 GS and I had trouble with the pop ups so I fix combination switch, but now my highbeams don't work if the stalk is pushed in forward, if anything I'm getting continuity for the highbeams on the low beam setting as well as the proper one for the lows and loose it when I turn the highbeams, so neither are working atm I was wondering if someone might know the issue here? The contact points have been cleaned and sanded very slightly as to clean and not damage,

Stalk pushed forward

At rest

Did you make sure the right connectors went back into the right sockets? The two marked below are reversible physically.

Populated, mostly. This is my 83 GSL combination switch.

Yes mine has the wipers as a black connector and the one for the lights is white

Mine is an 83 so it might be different that yours. I don't have a black connector, so I can't comment on how yours is connected.

You can download the wiring diagram for your year and make sure that the wire colors are correct. You can get the wiring diagram and factory manual PDFs here...

https://foxed.ca/index.php?page=rx7manual#firstgen

Also, check all of your fuses and the fusible links. The latter are located in a little brown box mounted to the drivers' side strut tower in the engine bay, near the AC compressor. In case you don't know, a fusible link is a special wire encased in a fiberglass sleeve. It will melt (just like a fuse) if there is an over current draw.

If all of the fuses are okay, it would be time to get out the volt meter and start checking wires for presence of 12V and checking the combi switches again for the right continuity.

Yes they are the right ones, it was working prior to me messing around with it cause the pop ups weren't working, now the pop ups work but the lights don't. I'm not quite sure where I went wrong, but all the wiring is good and so are the bulbs, so I know my issues still lies in the combi switch
