headlights

84 gslse. my headlights wont retract, they so go up and work fine. I checked the fusible links and the wires. I have to manually retract them and it sucks. Help

And You have not unplugged any plugs in the car.
Had this problem when i had my stereo surround out, turned out to be the headlight washer switch unplugged

I had the same issue when the taillight fuse blew. At first, I suspected a short, till I noticed someone had put a 7.5 amp fuse where it calls for a 10amp.
Also, check to insure the retractor switch is plugged in and still works.

Yeah, my bet is on the retractor switch, it's to the left of the instrument cluster.

If your headlight service switch is unplugged they will stay up.
