Headlight Conversion?
Wow sexy car, props. Im glad there isnt competition like that in canada, well not too much of it. I hear you almost have to have a 20a to compete with anyone. Anways, to get back to the point, i havent started making a kit yet, but since im starting in a new shop next week you guys might start to see kits forming in about a month.
ok, Ill dig the grave on this one. Anyone ever come up with anything? I've been thinking bout just making my own. I've been taking measurements and what not. Seems pretty easy to do. Reading this thread and others, people have been WAY overengineering the flush mount headlights to all acheive the same look!
The bucket needs to be squared off on the underside while the upper portion has the contour of the original headlight lid. You make it ever so smaller so that a lip can be made to mount a lexan cover cut to the exact shape as the headlight lid. Finish your fiberglass off in a nice black gelcoat. Trim the edges of the underside of the headlight lid with black paint to cover up the mounting surfaces and blammo, flush mounts galore. Granted this is an extremely over simplified explanation but hey if you can understand it you can do it.
I might just do this and sell some to make it worth my while. But what would the buckets be worth with no lights in em seeing as how noone is apparently making them anymore?

I would have thought more people would have answered by now. I was thinkin 300 a pair seeing as how these would be gelcoated and using lexan for the covers. Strength and durability are key. Seems the others were using smooth sanded fiberglass painted with plexiglass covers. You just dont get a product that will last as long that way.

I'm looking into it this week, will be making covers and buckets with injection moulding so they will be good and consistent. May look at doing them with and without lights if people want to supply thier own, there are so many choices these days - Halogen, LED, HID etc

i am planning to do an HID projector countersunk setup with the guts from lincoln navigator headlights. has a high/low setting and the plastic ears that let you adjust it's position are still intact making it easier to mount down solid. only plan to let enough of the lexan be clear to let the light out, the rest body color matching.
