Now if you are talking Mustangs....there is nothing quite as sweet as a lumpy cammed mustang with flowmasters!!!!......and I am not even a ford guy!
hence the reason i had 1 chamber flows on mine. however, as far as the magnaflows go, ive got header to 2.5 inch pipe to magnaflow to dual tips and its surprisingly quiet until you get WOT.

I didnt think i would mind mine being loud either, but i changed my mind quickly. I had a 3 inch glasspack bolted directly to the RB header with a turndown. It sounded good, but after a week of driving back and forth to work (110 miles round trip) i decided i wanted full exhaust. If its not your daily driver though, loud may be just what you want, i personally couldnt stand the fact that i couldnt hear my sound system (and NOT a cheap one by any means) over the exhaust tone on the interstate.

Anyone else think that his Header/housinger/kegger looks like an RB set-up welded on?

Ok,.... was finishing the exhaust today, and caught some ****. Here is what happened. There was big orange sticker on one side of the muffler that said inlet. I tacked the muffler on, took the sticker off, and welded it up. Today, I notice on the oposite side, that should be the out, the word inlet is stamped in the metal, much less obvious than the sticker. Anyhow I need to know what happens if you run the damn muffler backwards or if it even matters, although im sure it does or they wouldnt even say which end was the inlet... im also about to contact the flowmaster direct site, and ask what the hell there problem is or flowmasters or whoever put the sticker on. thanks. K.C.

well, it could mess it up. I just researched it. The damn problem is, should i trust the way it was stamped, it seems like, that would have to be right. I guessing somehow the sticker was just put on wrong. Such a pain in the ***. Flowmaster Direct is closed...

Im going to call flowmaster tomorrow when the open. Im pretty aggravated but its ok. I also realized the glass pack on my setup is busted too lol. I decided to just bring the "housinger" and muffler to the muffler shop and let them do it. It actually wont cost me but 50 - 100 bucks to get them to weld it all up for me and the pipe... so ill do that friday. I got the carb on, but now its dark, im going to put my tank back in tomorrow, i also need to go buy a new fuel filter. Can i start it with just the housinger on it?? of do i have to have pipe? let me know! thanks.. K.C.

Dude, with it being a flowmaster I am pretty sure you have to get the direction right. The basic design of this muffler works off of reflection noise cancellation. It is designed to where the flow goes in only one way.

well actually from what ive read, it would actually be more quest backwards, but the backpressure can damage the engine.... not sure thats the truth but thats what i read. Either way, friday it will all be on the engine correctly.

the side that is stamped into the metal is the one i would trust, thats how ive always done it anyways. I didnt have any issues with my car by running it with just the "housinger" (jesus that sounds wierd, ive still got small block ford in my blood), for about 30 miles, and i was driving it pretty hard the whole time too, so im sure youll be fine.

Yea housinger is weird. I have a small block 350 under the hood of my 78 ta im rebuilding.... although its a much much more long term project. Im even thinking of pulling it out and rebuilding the engine, even though I just got it in there about 6 months ago. Im going to put new quarter panels, all new interior, new suspension, basically complete restore, once im finished with this here rx7. Which is getting closer to the finish line everyday.

Well had a good week or so.... The exhaust is done.... Its pretty loud.... is it pretty common for these cars to back fire when revving them or what, it still backfires once in a while, although its not like before, and the muffler really did make it more quiet... i think it would be alot better, but i just put fuel cell in it, and i had to cut the spare tire deal out, and i havent finished covering the hole yet, so the sound is drained straight into the car... lol. Anyhow My fuel cell is just about finished as well, i have to run my fill line, and vent line, ill show yall some pictures of what i got planned for that later. The carburetor is working good, started first try today (first time to try starting it in over 2 weeks probably) And once it warmed up it idled at about 800 rpm. Anyhow it ran good. Really just need to know about the backfiring thing.... thanks. K.C.
