Are Hawk HPS pads compatible with slotted StopTech rotors?

I've heard that Hawk ferro-carbon HPS brake pads can't be used with "coated" rotors. Here are the Hawk pads I'm talking about:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000CLPDHC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000CLPDHC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I wanted to add StopTech slotted rotors to the Hawk HPS pads, however toward the end of the video describing the StopTech rotors it says the rotors are "coated".

https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=6159474&cc=1192261&jsn=388

So does anybody have any experience with this?

Thanks
Ray

Running essentially this setup on my SE all around,Ray. The rotors are coated everywhere except on rotor faces where pads ride with a high temp epoxy coating to prevent rust/oxidation.
I 1st used the Cryo treated rotors on my Tacoma pickup, then on my Dodge full size truck. The latter habitually warped rotors from towing my car trailer and they stood up to two sets of pad changes over 100k miles of use. The Tacoma is my Surf fishing vehicle and bad winter weather get me anywhere vehicle. @ 158k miles on rotors being exposed to salt/sand(truck washed after each trip) and road salt here in wintertime. On both trucks, only rust is a light coating on braking surfaces that's gone with 1st application of brakes. The rest looks as installed, little dirty but coated surfaces intact.
So i went with Stop Tech Cryo rotors and HPS pads all around on my SE. Combo works real well, good grip, pedal feel.Rebuilt all calipers, braided flex lines,DOT 4 fluid. Done several hi speed stops with no hint of rotor runout or pedal pulsation with about 2k miles driven so far.
Best feeling"stock brakes" on any 1st gen i've owned. Need to take care bedding in pads for best results. No squeaking, squealing nor excessive brake dust. Both pads and rotors very reasonable cost wise. Judging by the other vehicles i have them on,i'll never have to replace them again. If i tracked the car, likely, but will be all street and maybe occasional autocross.

Wanted to add they are directional,as in there's a left and right,so mind that on install. They make it stupid proof with a L and R sticker on respective rotors.

Them's the ones Mike, thanks for the excellent info.

Now I'm thinking I need to install that set of braided stainless lines I've got stored away someplace.

That would be really cool.

You need to take me fishing someday.

Strippers, fantastic. I've always wanted to fish for those but being an inlander not many opportunities.

That brake job of yours looks fantastic, I now have something to shoot for. Will post pics.

What kind of springs and shocks are those? I'm planning on Eibach springs and tokico blues for the shocks/strut inserts.

Strippers, different kind of trouble altogether,lol...Stripers,also locally called Rockfish, arguably best tasting fish caught here.

Thanks, part of complete suspension, brake system renovation/upgrade couple years ago.

Rb springs,Tokico Blues all around. Both compliment each other well.

Some of pics i took to document work done to car when i get it assessed for stated value insurance when finished.

Dang, nice work. Are you using all new parts or are some of them your original stuff with a fresh coat of paint?

If it's new it must have cost a fortune.

Which I don't have, but I do have a can of black spray paint and a talent for refinishing things so I guess I have to put that on my list of things to do.

When done I want it to look just like yours, except I'll have the Eibach springs instead of RB.

No,Ray. Those are all the suspension pieces from car. Stripped car to a shell suspension wise front and rear along with all brakes. Broke all components down, washed all parts in parts washer. Glassbead all parts.

Made a "paint booth" out of box new dishwasher came in. Used an old computer tower cooling motor attached to some drier vent hose and to box to vent paint fumes out of garage. Wiped all parts down with prepsol, got garage up to temp. Put a batch of parts in booth, mixed up etching primer and shot parts. Wait til flashed and in my other gun mixed epoxy satin black chassis paint and gave each batch of parts two coats and let dry. Remove from booth and laid out of the way on cardboard under the car.Rinse and repeat til all were done.

Working 2-3 hrs a night after work and Saturdays i think it was 2 weeks til all parts were painted. Worked on car from day after Thanksgiving til 1st week of April. Suspension, street port exhaust, emissions delete, alt upgrade,2nd gen underhood fusebox,DFI ignition upgrade.

Never really considered it, Was just documenting work and parts put into restoration/upgrading mechanicals, electrics, struts, shocks, springs, swayba rs,exhaust for assessed value appraisal.
Not attempting to build a track car, want something that handles and stops better than new, with a little more power while keeping ac and cruise control and have a car friendly enough to take long rides, trips.
Perusing threads in build section, don't consider what i'm doing to my car to be on the level of what others are posting there.

Your project is worthy of a build thread Mike, but I kind of like seeing bits and pieces of it popping up here and there, always nice to see.

That's good news that they are not new, paint and elbow grease I can afford, although I may not have the talent and time to do it as well as you have.

One of those bead blaster boxes may be worth the investment though, probably a lot easier than sanding and wire brush.

I've got my order in for the slotted rotors, time to get busy.

Maybe when completed i'll reconsider the build thread,Ray.
The time thing...it's taking a lot longer than i want it to due to health stuff. Times i feel good enough to work on it i have to push myself due to no energy. I enjoy working on the car as much as driving it,if that makes sense. Call it therapy, takes my mind off other things. There is satisfaction in completing different parts of the project like the suspension, brake resto/upgrades. When you look at the car you can't really see any of the work done except for how it sits, level and lowered. If you got down on the ground you could see more but most will never see the level of finish and detail but it doesn't matter,i know what it looks like.
I hate that nose down rake FBs have and SE is worst as it's carrying the most weight on same springs as base model 1st gen.

The glass beader i bought is not the most expensive but gave me the most bang for the buck. It's big enough for what i needed(at times wish it was bigger)and have fit some stuff in there that would surprise you. I got the cabinet, couple different types of blast media, replacement nozzles for handgun and a dryer to keep abrasive dry when not in use and upgraded to their hi volume vacuum system with a Hepa filter and flexible final stage filter/exhaust bag. Allows me to use in enclosed garage with no outside vent, keeps blast cabinet clear of dust so you can easily see what you're doing and there's no dust emitted from cabinet, vacuum or final filter so don't have to concern myself with breathing dust containing unpleasant stuff. Got it all for just under $1000,watched for it to go on sale, saved about $250. I drove to their place in Canfield Ohio and picked everything up saving @$200 on shipping. Made a day of it with my girlfriend, left early, visited Flight 93 National Memorial in Shanksville Pa.on the way, stopped got lunch and headed to TP Tools to pick up my stuff. They have a huge showroom with restored Antique cars and old 1/4 scale model airplanes hanging from the ceiling and LOTS of tools for restoring cars. Like a kid in a candy store i was,had her hold my wallet, lol. Nice people, nice place. They let me keep my loaded truck off to the side inside their warehouse while we walked around the area and grabbed an early dinner.
Post some pics of your brake work
