Having a great 1st gen day

Well, it was yesterday, but it still counts as a good day...

Anyways, I'm up in Northern Arizona. This is like older car heaven up here.

I work at a local Checker Auto Parts store during the day, so I have been meeting alot of local people with Rx7s.

I have business cards with my cell phone number and email address, that I use to advertise for my Ebay business, which is mostly keyless entry remotes, and some Rx7 parts.

This past week, I have had a ton of Rx7 "business". Some kid with an 85 GSL-SE wants to buy alot of my FC parts. Another guy in Sedona has a 79 SA that he wanted me to swap a motor for him in, and now he decided he'd like to just sell me the car CHEAP (its still pretty solid and good condition)

Someone with an FC vert got ahold of my cell number, and was calling for some body panels, and sent an insurance adjuster to my house, and now they want to buy the entire shell, front bumper cover, headlight assembly, drivers front fender, etc...

And last night as we were about to close at work, some old guy in a 80 SA stopped in for some spark plugs, and now hes gonna give me a call later this week after he decides if he wants me to do some mods (pull rats nest, mechanical secondaries) or just sell me his car for a few hundred. That's the first time I've seen a Gold 1st gen.

So anyways, I've just been quite busy with getting my Rx7 side business going. I'm going to run out of places to park all these cars!

Sounds like an awesome day! There are two FB's on the road just in my local area and neither one of them know what they have. I've talked to them so this isn't a judgement call or anything.

There is a purple-ish colored one with lots of paint fade just sitting in a town south of here. I contacted the owner and got this whole long story about it and he doesn't want to sell it because he is going to "restore" it for his daughter that will have a license in a couple of years. Yeah, whatever, it has sat there in the same spot for the last 1.5 years with it's driver side window cracked a little. I finally stopped by and rolled it up the other day. I hate owners like that.

Ive found that the best deals are when you offer the person cash right there.

The people who "don't want to sell" always change their tune when you say "How about $XXX right now?"

True, Money talks! If the guy says he's going to restore it I'd say good and start talking about how hard they are to get parts for, How expensive parts are,how nobody (shop wise) knows how to work on them, you know that kinda stuff. Maybe he'll think it over and take the cash. You gotta really love these cars to take on a restoration of one just the maintance can be hard.

I think the interior was a dark blue with light blue accents? Not ricer.....but, I vaguely remember something plaid. I might be wrong and just remembering some funky Porsche 914 interior. I'll know for sure tomorrow. I posted some exterior pics of the car in my "How rare are these SA parts" thread. I didn't get a very good look. It's a red exterior color, which I'm pretty sure is original.
