havent started the 12a in 6 months
the car should be fine after 6 months, but if you wish, you could pour about a teaspoon of motor oil down each of the throttle bores, then turn the engine by hand through a few full revolutions. fire it up, but expect some smoke.
cince we are on this topic is it ok to store a rex in the show all winter long with out starting it till spring? and should we fog them like you would with a 2 stroke? or just sitting there is ok?
i can vouch for two methods of storing an Rx-7 for long periods of time:
1 (my brother's preferred method
): park the car, take out the battery and don't think about it until you're ready to drive it again ... sometimes that meant over a year. he's never had any problems with motors seizing or anything of the like.
2 (my preferred method):
run some MMO through with the fuel before you park it, then fill the tank before you park it.
put some gear oil in the motor (never more than about 1.0 to 1.5 teaspoon), turn it by hand through a few revs to coat the rotor housing and apex seals, remove the battery.
when you go to start it, bring an extra set of plugs. i'm a bit more ****
both have been proven to work through New York winters
