an RX that did not have a fuel filter? I just finished my 84 gs and put 6 gals of gas in the tank , turned the ignition on and no sound from pump. I didnt think much of it at the time , so I started tring to crank the engine no fire. I pulled the plugs one at a time and each was getting spark . Next I removed the fuel line to the carb no fuel. I sucked thru the line (big mistake , 89 octane doesnt tase very good) and no blockage. Jacked the car back up and I found that the cover plate and the fuel pump were missing. Then I dropped the tank (thought that maybe the previous owner instelled some off the wall pump , still nothing but the inlet tube the gauge and the three lines from the engine bay.

Finally , I got tired of tring to figure out how in the world the previous owner was driving this and went to buy another. Got back adn began the install only to find no wires to hook the damn thing up. Tomarrow I will install a dash mounted toggle switch to controll the pump and solve the problem for good.

The only question I have is how in the hell is it possible to run the car with out a fuel pump?

sorry so long guys , just a little upset.

Might run a few seconds, until the all the gas in the float bowl is gone

Otherwise I think you got a million dollar opportunity there. A car that runs without gas Think of the possibilities

Are we still a go for this motor? I really need the money, kinda broke right now

yea were still on for the engine . is it in the good condition that you were expecting? send me an email dwilliamsfaq@excite.com with a total price for shipping and the engine.

Ps what condition is the water pump in ? mine is leaking from the weep holes.

Is there a relay or something that links the brights and flashers together.

If you fit the switch somewhere out of sight, like in the glove box or under your seat, you could use it as a kill-switch. It would just provide that extra little bit of security.

When my fuel pump died, the car continued to run for quite a while. It probably lasted a whole minute before it stalled. Still, it's a lot trouble to refill and start it every minute!

Was the place where the pump and filter normally attach shiney? What I mean is, does it look like they were just removed? That's a pretty weird situation.
