Angry Have momo wheel, can't see tach! Anyone else?

I installed a momo 350mm wheel a while ago and now I can't see my tach or speedo. I'm just wondering if anyone has had this problem or if my steering column needs to be lifted a little (I have a custom adjustable steering column bracket). Thanks.

I know someone with a Momo wheel. I personally don't like them because they do just as you discribe, block the view of important gauges(speedo, tach). No one, to my knowledge has any adjustable steering on a 1st gen. Sucks to be you. Best solution to me, get the stock wheel back on.

I have a solution....give me the wheel! I'll take it off your hands (literally). It will give me a reason to get aftermarket guages.

I couldn't even see the top of the speedo when I had my stock se wheel on. Then I got a gxl wheel and seats and I can see fine. Try lower seats I guess, but that wheel might still be to small.

Really? How much lower are your seats? I NEED that, I'm a tall man and hate what head clearence issues I've put up with over the years?

What seats are you using? Are those cloth or leather.

I'm 6'1" and find that leaning the seat back or adjusting the up/down rake of the lower cushion (is that an SE only feature?) solves any head clearance or instrument visibility issues

Some people may not like lying down when they drive. I like a straight-up rally style sitting position while i negotiate turns in my vehicle

Once I layed back a bit on the highway, and i actually fell asleep i was so comfortable and hadnt remembered seeing the exit that the sign had just announced...lucky it wasnt my exit.

I have that delema. I really don't leaning way back and tilting my head forward to sit. Although this is a semi-relax'd position, its not a good position for most driving situations were I like to be fully alert and since the position discribed above seems to lead me to fatigue and sore back/other things. The lumber support is a joke almost. Yeap, I have the same seats, GSL has all that.

As for racing situations which require a helmet, F*CK!! I can't drive it without the moonroof fully extended and the seat moved forward some so I can tilt it back even further so I can move my head freely. I'm 6'3" ~175lbs but I can fit my knee's just fine compared to simliar people my height. So seat being farther ahead isn't really a issue.

My '88 is great, the seat can be fully up and still have ~3" of space above me with the moonroof closed!

This is my #1 complaint of 1st gens WITH OUT DOUBT.

So if anyone in MN has 2nd gen red cloth seats for sale cheap, give me a ring

a glass top also gives you more head room.

I have second gen seats in my 85, but I'm still sitting too high. I will NOT be putting the stock wheel back on as it's so nice to hand a small wheel on this tossable of a car. Sitting upright really makes a difference in the way I drive too, so I'll be not changing that.

Anyone know if the Corbeau Forza sits any lower than a stock seat? I have a feeling it wouldn't since I'd be upright still.

Perhaps custom seat rails? Anyone done this?

I'll let you know soon. I have ordered custom "low" seat rails and sliders for my Recaro's.

BTW, I have a Momo steering wheel, and it does block the view slightly, but..

It it is OH SO WORTH IT!

I had Corbeaus, still were to high. Now I run a 340mm steering wheel, and a Momo racing seat. It sits me a lot lower.
