Advanced Auto Parts here in the States. I bought em about two years ago....not sure if they've been hacked from the roster or not.

Right on.

Actually, Mazdatrix sells the Strong Arm 4709's...

It might sound fussy, but I'd hate to use electrical tape (not wanting to heat the strut - a pressurized device - by attempting to heat-shrink a new sock over the wiring). Once it ages electrical tape becomes brittle, saggy, and ugly.
I wrapped mine with black wire loom, here's a pic...

I know you don't like Mazdatrix, Manntis, but if you wear sunglasses they probably won't know it's you sneaking in on their site to order parts

And just so we don't forget the original reason for this thread...
Excuse me for being stupid, but how do you get those damn things off?
faye x7, didju ever get yours off?

So will these 'Strong Arm 4709s' hold up hatch glass with wiper and aluminum louvers? Mine are shot but I've hesitated in replacing them because of not knowing if they'd work with all that added weight.

I just checked advanceautoparts.com and they still list them for our cars (well, I searched for 84SE). $15.99 each.

It's not that I don't like Mazdatrix, zookeeper, I don't like their website. I find it hard to locate parts and their prices, then a pic of the price, then ordering info...

it's laid out with hard to read text on ugly backgrounds as though it were someone's homepage whipped up with Netscape Composer or something.

No way. That's too sophisticated. Front Page is more like it.

Yes, and then some...

And, Manntis, I know what you mean about the Mazdatrix web site. Their "search" feature particularly sux. But I've had very good support from them before and they even helped me locate some parts they didn't have by going thru their links to Mazda and telling me which dealers in the country still had the item (actually it was a hood) in stock. And gave me the phone numbers. That's "above and beyond" in my book

hey now, my site is new school but no flash or other distracting, blinking effects. It's all php and (hopefully) easy to navigate.

I built mine after looking at all the things I don't like about other sites, then did the opposite. Of course, I'm self taught so my php and sql skills aren't as fancy as some others, but I try to keep it good looking yet straightforward. IMHO the mazdatrix site is neither, and I've not been able to find a thing browsing it.

Not yours, yours is classy.

http://www.alpine.com/ is a quasi-good example (of bad)

Right on.

Try this link. Says they have 'em. Ship within 24 hours.
Advance Auto

If that link doesn't work for some reason goto
http://www.advanceautoparts.com. Click "shop online", do a search for "Strong Arm", click "Lift Supports", enter vehicle info. It worked for "1984 Mazda RX-7 1.3L" anyway.

If you like that, check out The internet time machine and see the actual "old skool" sites.
