Hatch release button

I noticed the hatch release button is not functional. Anyone have guidance on the repair?

Or if that doesn't work, I'd make sure you have power comming to the switch, then isolate the problem between the switch and the latch mechanism. (apply some jumper wires directly to the latch to actuate it) I've had this problem 2 or 3 times and it's always been the switch. Never tried to rebuild one, I've always just replaced it. I keep a couple on hand just for that reason. You probablly can find a "normally open" push button type replacement switch at a radio shack or Menards that would work or even to test and confirm the fault. OEM switches do come up for sale, you just need to search. Something to try after you come back down.....

Thanks. After a little searching I realized it is electric. Will try the simple stuff like fuse replacement then move on to the jump and/or switch swap out.

Mine also doesn't really work.

I spent time troubleshooting it..

Confirmed the switch is functional and power gets back to the electromagnet actuator.

Pressing the switch moves the electromagnet maybe 1% of the time. Something is faulty with the electromagnet unit and never got further than that.

Anybody else experience the same thing?
