Has anyone put a REPU tranny in their SA/FB

Hi, I am working on my SA that has been sitting for 5 years at my friends shop. I have a 5spd tranny and 4port 13b from a repu. Has anyone put a REPU tranny in a SA before. Just wondering if the shifter would line up, I hear they are a strong tranny (ripcase).

Also, has anyone done a fb front end swap to the soft nose on a SA? I like the split tail light design in back but would like the soft nose. I know the fenders are slightly different, but will the nose bolt up to the 79-80 bumper shocks?

Cross my fingers, I hope to have some wide 16" SSR chrome meshs for it this weekend.

Thanks for the help and will have pics of the progress.

Also, I do lots of traveling right now between so cal and vegas. I have been hitting the local pick n pulls and there are a bunch of SA/FB laying around. I have noticed alot of the east and midwest guys seem short of good parts cars by the WTBs I see in the for sale section. I see alot of good things that are probably getting crushed that could help keep these cars on the road. I am going to be pulling a GSL disk out tomorrow for my 79 and they have 3 pretty complete cars there. Send me PMs if you are looking for stuff and I can keep and eye out. If these cars are going to be crushed lets make sure they help keep as many others as possible out of the bone yard.

.

The older tranny will a SA and there is no need to enlarge the shifter hole. You may need to modify the tranny mount. IIRC, the tranny housing is in an angle and not flat or level to the frame like the 79-
