Has anyone ever put an S2000 seat in a FB?

Hey guys,
Just wondering if anyone has any insight on this. A friend of mine has an s2000 and is thinking about going to racing seats, and I am considering getting the seats from him (mint black leather) and putting them in my widebody.

Any thoughts on this one?

Dan.

Never messed with the seats out of one of those fine cars, but I would assume that it wouldn't be too hard to fab up brackets, or...just throwing it out there, but swap over your stock brackets- not sure of the difference in size, but those seats are incredibly comfortable/supportive- if you dont mind leather

You have to make sure the height of the seat is no more than 36" iirc...

The only issue with putting non SA/FB/FC seats in our cars is that the passenger side floor pan has that hump in it to clear the catalytic converter. To compensate for this seats made for our cars have that inner rail angled, whereas most other cars have flat rails. You'll have to make sure you keep this in mind when making the custom brackets. Other than that it shouldn't be too hard....

I don't see why poeple wouldn't just weld a sqare tube on the floor ... or just 4cubes of it basically like them up and weld them on the floor. That will give you that flat floor configuration. Either way you'll be making a bracket for it so make it simpler on yourself ... just my 2 cents though

Along with the custom made brackets for the seats to sit in, even if they are too tall, just shave some off the top.

In the same vein as this discussion, what aftermarket seats seem to fit the best? I'm kinda set on harnesses for my car for safety reasons...has anyone tried STI seats?

I was thinkin that they did but I've never paid that much attention to them before!

From what I hear, S2K seats are unreal. So the problem with getting seats from another car to fit is the mounting on the passenger side?

and the width of the seat as well....i cant remember what the width has to be less than, but i know its crucial to find the correct width- i had a corbeau that just *barely* fit in my old fc...luckily it did- that was just something i forgot to check when i went with aftermarket seats.

As long as the seats aren't too wide or high you can fit any seats in an Rx7. I've had Miata seats in my 7 previously and now have Sparco reclinables which I bought from someone that had them and decided it was too hard to mount them. All I did was to make up some metal tabs to get required width and height and welded them to standard rails. I did have to use a spacer at the rear of drivers' seat (RHD) but apart from that it's fairly straight forward.

Does anyone know the correct measurements? That'd be useful information for seat-shopping.
