Lately these cars have really gone up in price!!! I spend about 3 hours a day just searching for rotaries for sale and man have they gone up. Here's one that just sold on ebay for almost 3900 and it had an aftermarket sunroof!! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=4542927064

Also on autotrader I used to get 3 pages of 84-85's but now I usually only get one page of cars for sale. Get a clean car as a spare and you will make money on it in a few years because they are dissapearing! At the junk yards I used to see at least 6 first gens on every trip but now sometimes I go days without finding one! Someone at work already offered me much more than I paid for my white one to sell it to him.

moving up

yes they are climbing.

think bout it. the kids who wanted one in the 80s or the guys who had one in college of after are now older, have jobs and have some bread.

kids of the 60s - 70s are in a frenzy over muscle cars and not so special chevelle's. the same thing will happen to 80s cars. especially unique ones.

go check out the may 05 issue of the british car mag "classic cars", it has a 1st gen buyers guide. Prices appreciating for clean stock 7s.

Yup. Just as I said 3 years ago, 25 years is the breakover when good cars get more valuable. I have 2 FBs and an SE as well as a 74REPU so I'm almost ready, but I need a good SA.

The whole reason I got my RX7 is becasue of these reasons;

1) My dad wanted one in High School but drove a truck because he couldn't afford it.
2) The RX7 Name is just bad ***.
3) It's not a boinger!

Needless to say my dad talked me into getting the car and I have not regretted it since!

that's pretty cool, i have an 83' model that im kinda restoring although it doesn't need much, you think the price will still appreciate even with a few modifications? the car just isn't all that impressive to me after stepping out of the Turbo II. I want to put a cat replacement pipe. I love these cars, i want a triumph spitfire as well but they have basically disappeared or at extreme prices, of course i'd put a rotary in the spitfire...then it would actually spit fire.

mods/customizing tend to be personnal choices which may not be to the new buyers taste. Most classic cars which appreciate are kept stock. Sure there not as fast but the car is a sports car - handles well, hi-tec for its time, priced well and had a history of racing wins at daytona against porsche, not bad for a newbie.

My opinion only, I think of myself as a purist, no body kits, wings etc.

i'll never forget what the salesman said about the "targa" version, when my sister bought her 84 (in 84), (it had a front dam, wing and a stainless steel band over the roof) "it loses its true for".

i'll try and get a pdf version of the brit sports car mag posted, they state the clean 7 is now a rare find. to read that from a brit about a jap car may signal the appreciation gains. 25 years. hold em and drive safely.
