hard start

hey i have a 12a with a holley on it in my sandrail and it doesnt start. i hard wire the starter to 24v just to make it spin faster and then it starts. whats wrong.

If you have to spin it that fast to start, do a compression check. If that shows good, start with battery cables and a tune up.
