Im super surprised u still take stuff to a mechanic,,, If it shakes only when turning its probably your wheel bearings.. does it make a really loud groaning noise while u drive straight??

put some friction modifier in the diff, the clutch's in the lsd are probably trying to lock up. i forgot friction modifier in my last diff change and it did the same thing.

any of these friction modifiers should work, i just get the off the shelf stuff at my local auto parts store.

:NODS:

I use the Ford Stuff. Napa stuff seems too slippery and wears the clutches out faster. Only add enough of the Ford stuff until it's smooth with the tight parking lot turn.

Limited slip diffs have clutches in them. If the right additive isn't in the oil, it will chatter or "shake" around tight corners where the outside tire turns alot faster than the inside tire.

Your old diff could have been an open/non-limited slip, or had the additive in it already.

Thank you had no idea about the clutches inside. I just hope it's not ruined.

Like everyone else said, get some LSD additive in there and it will smooth right out. The chatter you're feeling is annoying, but at least it tells you the LSD is still working lol.

As someone else said, I'm surprised you take your car to a mechanic. They aren't hard to work on and are a great way to learn... Most mechanics don't know what to make of a car as old as ours....

Yep, no worries. Sounds like the classic LSD chatter. Add the goop and you'll be fine.

I have a similar problem, but only when straight at high speed, and I can't feel it, I hear it... It sounds like chattering from EITHER the left OR right side, but never both. At first I thought it could have been a wheel bearing or something but it swaps sides and is never simultaneously.

I would not trust a mechanic on these cars=/ Just biy yourself a craftsmen mechanics 300 piece tool set and a nice floor jack.. Some jack stands and read the forums when u need to do something. Things as simple as a tune up arent worth paying some1 to do when u can easily do it.
