We have cool cars with classic shovel noses. I clipped a doe with an 80's Supra once, and got lucky that it flew across the roof instead of through the windshield as usually happens. Going through some relatively flat farmland, the damn thing jumped out of a ditch!
Hopefully y'all up there don't have the hunting-industry-enforced deer overpopulation we suffer from here in lower Michigan. My county was leading the USA in car-deer fatalties last year...
I thank you for the concern JEC-31. It is nice to know that someone gives a ****, if i **** up while driving!

But fortunatly, there is no ditches on the sides of the roads,in that particular part of farmland. There is only wheat. And since it is the end of november, the wheat is kinda flat.
So unless the deer are less than a foot tall i would see them coming.
But one again, thanks for the concern.
I really don't mess around in my car, at high speeds, too much. I normally stick to burnouts

Sorry to hear about your car too man! I'm glad that you made it out of that ok!

curious question here ... and believe me, i don't condone doing top speed runs on the highway either. for me ... those days are loooooong gone ... however, i know air dams are good for stability, but what if you want to keep the nose contours stock? besides, the air dams also detract from your terminal speed. what if you just lower the whole car (and maybe seal up some of the undertray openings)? how much do you guys think it would keep the nose planted at speed?

Heheh - close...

My favorite hill is the one on I-4 heading west just past Lakeland - there are also quite a few in Gainesville - however, the one I was referring to was actually the Pineda causeway.

I would think the car would have to be slammed way low, and i'm not to sure about the oem design at hi-speeds. Look at how the nascar's are fitted, some air
does get under the front. the more rounded the nose the more slippery the car becomes. not from top to bottom, but from headlight to headlight. I know on the mode four would be better without the driving light buckets, or if i were to either totally fill the bucket's with lights or fab. some clear plexi to cover the driving light buckets.

AJC13B, No we do not have the same rear end

I have three different gear sets I ran in my rx7, 3.9, 4.4, and a lower one.

My top speed was set with the 3.9 and pulling my rev limiter in 5th gear 8800 to 8900rpm, Set on Dulop racing/road tires ( I would not recomend people exceed 180mph on normal road tires !)

For those who do not believe well, I am not going to try to convince you, but it is very easily possible with anything over 500bhp and the correct gearing to crack the magical 200mph barrier in a first gen 7. And you do not need allot of road to do it either

I mean Racing beat cracked 183mph with a modest 323bhp n/a PP 20+years ago with no fancy aero mods just skinny tires, I run 205 width tires. As you smart guys out there know as you double speed you need to cube the power, so a small increase needs or requires allot of more power, but yeah over 500bhp @ the engine at you will have the goods to crack 200mph ! Just remember to pump up your tires !!!! another little trick ! You loos allot in rolling resistance when you run low street tire pressures, can cost you a fair bit of speed, for a real life example go dust of your bike and pump up the tires as hard as max recommended and see how fast you can go for the same effort v's the lowest recommended pressure (you will be supprised!)

It is not so nice on your tail shaft universal joints though, especially with high rpm's in overdrive 5th spins the tail shaft very very fast and you will get harmonics that put the shaft and uni's under allot of stress. I needed to change mine after a few high speed runs, just a warning to those interested in trying it out A two piece shaft would solve this problem as you would be well under the critical speed of the shaft when undertaking such stupidity !

Rice, I remember in the Zoom article it thanked your .762 5th gear for allowing such high speeds while implying this was done with the 4.44 diff ratio. Just reading it with any sort of idea would immediately tell you that was wrong.

I just found that a bit amusing, as it suggests they didn't really know what they were talking about. If i'm not mistaken that 5th gear ratio is just the standard S5 ratio.

Oh well.

There are many things they got wrong like three bonnet vents, when in the photo you can see four !

I told them I use a 4.444 at Wakefield only, theres a few little things wrong but hey I was just real happy to get my car featured and have a center fold of my baby, like they even got my top speed wrong for christ sake ! It was not 313kph or what ever they put, but over 200mph !!!!!!

I am sure there is some carzy Jap or someone who has cracked 210mph or more, top speed trials are not a big thing over here, I remember crispeed telling me there was a guy in a second gen who had done over 210mph
