I wouldn't take him to court even with a bill of sale. He could counter and hold you accountable for storage fees.

 

You sound rather young and naïve. Sure, he was supposed to call. Did you check on your property? Sounds like you weren't very proactive. You have ignored almost every comment on here and answered every time with "he was supposed to call". Maybe he lost your number? In any case you had a responsibility to keep up with it more than you did. You will get nowhere in court. Try to work it out with him directly or just forget it. You don't have much of a leg to stand on.
