gunna try the MMO

I can get the car to start (79) and it will now idle momentarily if i sit and hold the gas for a little while, (how long does it normally take to warm these cars up?, my guages dont work so im scared ill hurt the car if i sit for to long) but its really sluggish and lopping, im gunna do the MMO treatment just for good measure, but will it hurt anything if this isnt the problem?

what have you already done? The MMO treatment is hardly the first thing you try.

oh now that you ask i cant remeber, but the MMO is all anyone has really told me to try; ive had it running and my dad checking all the ports on the carb for leaks and couldnt find any, ive sat for a good 3-5 min, i cant remember how long, with my foot on the gas,
I think thats about it, so will it hurt the engine if I do it, and it doesnt need it?

to answer your question...no. It won't contribute to any problems.

However, there are a number of things you should try first. A compression test would high on that list. Also, the unflooding proceedure would be there. Timing? Check your plug wires to make sure they're hooked up propperly. Lots of stuff...MMO is real good for low compression and such...but I doubt your prob is low compression.

If it's a '79, you need to double check your ignition system. Points are always fun. Especially dual points.

mmo

I add mmo to my fuel and I noticed a large improvement in all running conditions, easier starting, smoother reving, and more power. I add a lot tho 1oz per gallon lol I havent noticed anything going wrong, my plugs dont foul or anything, and I dont really notice any smoke so go for it!
