Talking Guess what I'm 'bout to get?

Well, this'll be the first thread I've started in the 1st Gen section, and hopefully not the last, for I am about to embark on an automotive journey. I came accross an '85 Mazda RX-7 GSL-SE today. I'd heard about it through a friend, an unsure one at that because he told me it was an '82, and he told me about it. I went over to the guy's house who had it and looked in the back yard while he was away and my eyes got all wide when I realized that it was a GSL-SE. That was at about 1pm today, and I went back at 5:30pm when the guy was home. I told him that I had heard that he had an RX-7. He was a little hesitant at first, but he led me to the back yard where the red beauty was sitting, dead leaves collected around it at a height of about 5". I was immediately intrigued. He opened the driver door and let me tell you, the interior is PERFECT. He attempted to pop the hood, as did I, but for about a minute or two we couldn't figure out where the hood-pop lever was. Finally I reached WAY down and pulled it. "PLUNK". The hood cracked open a little bit and I pulled it forward to reveal the 13B sitting there, neglected and forgotten. I looked at the odometer, which read a hair over 140,000 miles. The guy told me how he aqcuired the car. His daughter in law is the original owner of the car and she had it at his house when it died- not sure what happened. So she leaves it in his backyard with his collection (including a '69 Mustang, '75 Mustang, '46 Ford Truck, '46 Dodge Truck, '78 Delta 88, and a '61 Ford Fairlane IIRC) yet doesn't ever come back to get it. So he pretty much takes it in since she doesn't want to get it. He then asks me how much I'd give him for it. I told him $300 and at first he got kinda quiet, but then he thought about it for a second and agreed. Now all he's gotta do is talk to her and get the title, keys, and ask her what actually happened to the car (she actually knew, lol.) So, hopefully I'll be part of the 1st Gen club soon!! Hope my screen name is okay, lol. Peace.

make sure to search and find out proper "revival" procedures.. i consider the first start to be the most important part of keeping an old motor alive.
