gt-3 ROTA BUYERS
OKAY, if you want these wheels or are thinking about it speak your mind because we need more people if you want to get this style instead of the 5 spoke jspl's. i like these better but almost no one is commiting to this style. if you have free time and can photoshop do some better ones than i did...these gt-3 pics were placed right over 15" kosie's on the car of "southernrunner".............the more who buy, the cheaper!!! also, this was started and is still regulated by rotormotor, so he gets all the credit for getting us this, this is just to keep us organized and occupied.......God bless

well we are just waiting on rotormotor, offset was supposed to have been figured out, hopefully rota did their homework...maybe someone should have rota mail them a sample wheel to see how it fits and if it does send the other three to that person and do the rest of us.....................if rotormotor is still really busy and we dont hear from him then i will email rota and do some homework, the wheels should e the same offset as kosei's right, these are 7" wide im pretty sure, the j.spl's are 6.5" but only wiegh 11 pounds

i called rota, the wheels will look the same with the adjusted offset(they compensate the other side of the wheel to keep the same look.........shipping is like 50 bucks he said, but if ten people join in on a group buy then the shipping could be free......lets get a group going, everyone is drifting away, lets just try to get as many as possible for the gt-3's and go for it.....the offset can be done at whatever, i figured matching the kosei wheels at +17 would be fine but im not the most inclined when it comes to wheels....i think its wierd more people aren't interested but i guess it shows our diff. tastes............ keep commenting and keeping this thread alive

If the hub is 3inches thick, and you dont change the offset from the hub,but add more material. This will change the thickness, which means it will change the amount of thread on the studd thats atually being used.
Safely.
When you asked on shipping, and you mentioned "group buy".Did you mention not ALL the wheels are going to the same spot?
They will be taking a huge lost just on shipping.
I personally dont want to have a wheel, with the lip that is on it now.
I will just go back to plan A,get the wheels I want with a 1 1/2 -2 in lip.
Go get diffrent thickness adaptors/spacers to make the staggered look, and run wider tires in the back
205/40/17 in the front- 235/40/17 in the back
The info is getting thrown around, and I dont want to be stuck with wheels im not satify with.
We do need an example wheel.

^haha............................anyways, well i dunno guys, it doesnt sound like its going to happen, i doubt they will give us a serious lipped wheel likei think we all want really. I could call and bug rota again about the shipping but i see no reason to, if someone wants just go on thier website and call the cali. place...i really like the style of these wheels but what rotary7 said makes sense because wy have the wierd bolts instead of the studs built into the car and just using a nut to tighten it down....no matter what we would have to wait for the wheels for a while too................................but what do other aftermarket wheel owners do? wouldnt this dilemma be the same for kosei's???? i dont know what to do ya know

How the hell you pulling strings like that?
Sounds good though.
Get the wheel,and try it.
Check for:
Hub centric
Offset
just for cosmetic,
the lip issue
What wheel are they sending you,a 15? or 16?
Are the allowing you to mount a tire on it?
I think once you get the wheel, and post pics.It might change more people minds.
When you get a wheel, bolt it down, stick a 2X4 or 4x4 on the ground where wheel would meet the tire, then rest the wheel on the wood,DO NOT let all of the pressure off the floor jack.
Then take a look off the offset from the side of the car,It should tuck under the fender or at about the lip,but does not exceed the body line.
On the lug nut issue,
I can get ET tuner lug nuts, with screw in studs.
I get them locally, and would get them for you guys i fyou need them,Im not sure how much shipping would be.
Also,
if WORSE comes to WORSE.
I can get spacers/adaptors made locally,they are about $200.
Most likely it looks like I will be going that route, and get the staggered look.
The guy who makes them, makes them for custom wheel shops for them guys running 20-26in wheels.
But he recommended to me to go 4x110 to the bigger lug pattern 4x114.3 but he can go with a 5 lug if you want.

me personally, wheel spacers and adapters scare me..........the tuner lugs sound cool even thought it's more money but hey im dedicated to this now, i will make sure i talk to you guys like crazy when the wheel comes in, maybe i could ask them to mount a pretty low profile tire on it, wouldnt be ideal but at least it would be easier to look at, we'll see i guess, i could just try what you said and be fine....they are sending a 15" inch....is there a way to exactly measure the offset and everything?

i dunno, the place is closed sunday(like every other place that has to do with car stuff, annoying) but i emailed them, then they will prob. email me back to make sure,,,,,,that might be right i dunno, but i will talk to them about it, offset is only in millimeters anyway but i def. wont look past what you heard was right, maybe they will ship two wheels with two diff. sizes, i will let you guys know tom. after they contact me(if they dont i'll call again)

205-50-15
205 means 205mm wide
50 is the sidewall height (50% of 205mm = 102.5mm) versus a 40 series tire is 40% of 205, which = 82mm
15 is the diameter of the wheel
