thats pretty vague for a diagnoses....... id guess it could be anything from a squeeky water pump, to throw out bearing, wheel bearings, speedo cable, maybe someone glued a hamster to your driveshaft.....

honestly, i cant give an opinion worth a damn without a little more info......

call me crazy, but if its only in certain gears i would think its safe to assume it COULD be noise coming from your tranny, and its just hard to tell thats where its coming from. Mine makes noise in second gear as well, however i know for sure mine is coming from the trans.

Does it mainly happen around a certain RPM? I ask b/c I have had similar problems that were more slaved on RPM and they have been loose things (exhaust shield / seat bolts / glove box / etc) that were vibrating from resonation.

no its not in certain gears cuz i can hear it in 3rd and 4th aswell, it sounds amost like something is rubbing on something, i have the day off tomorrow so i'll check the tranny and the rear axle just to be sure, and look alot more into it.

remove the front pads and see if anything is rubbing.. clean the rotor and the caliper bracket with brake cleaner, check the brake pad clips for a lot of pad residue and clean them. make sure your anti squeal shims are not rubbing on the rotor...
