GSLSE, missing alot, but not consistantly.
the trailing ignitor went down so i unplugged it and switched the blue connector to the leading coil so the car can run. but the idle and general driving has become well. rather junky . You can hear it missing real bad (and with a header and a rusted out stocker muffler, you REALLY cant miss it). i tried giving it new plugs for the leading as they are the only ones working right now. i know that the trailing would help to have connected, but it shouldnt be enough to make it miss while driving or idling. also the idle as of this morning will go up to like two or three thousand, then hold for a sec, then drop to normal. and its seems like the advanced warm up system (if its anything like the FC) is getting sorta shady. or at least it at likes it does have a system
today im going to put on the FC alt. i have in the basement, this weekend i should have an ignitor for the trailing to get that working again and see if my problems are reduced. ill try a full ignition tune up and perhaps see if the TPS is crapping out.
Any other ideas to look for on this car? Any strange ground issues i should look into?

First off, fix the trailing ignition. As others have stated, this is primarily for good fuel mileage, but also delivers greater torque and driving smoothness during acceleration and cruising.
Secondly, I'd change out the cap and rotor if you haven't done this in the last 2 years. With temperature changes (springtime), these can crack and cause erratic ignition symptoms. Also, check your spark plug wires to see if anything's shorting out your coil leads or leading leads for front and rear.
Lastly, check out a search here on 'SE Surging' and you'll get the full rundown on what causes 'surging' at idle when cold and how to fix it. Good luck,
