GSLSE front suspesnion on an 80

to swap the front suspension front an 84 GSLSE to an 80 would be a straight bolt up swap? or what would i need to do to do the swap? also, i want to go with stainless steel brake lines, but what setup would i use since its an 80 with the full GSLSE suspesnion? would the set fron racing beat that says its for a 79-80 with 81-85 rear disc work? http://racingbeat.com/FRmazda1.htm or is that just referring to a GSL swap?

79 and 80 had a different thread pitch for the brake lines. You will need to get an adapter to change the thread over to the later one.

other then that you just need the full assembly to swap over.

i've done a complete swap to a SA. I used everthing from the FB (similar to GSL-SE) except for the brake booster. Everything means FB's brake lines from rear to front etc etc. FB's brake booster is larger in size than the SA. I kept the SA so I didnt have to mess with the clutch master.

That's the way I did it. Well, sorta - I converted mine from SA to '84 GSL, then acquired an SE suspension a few years later. Swapping the brake lines was really easier than I feared. The toughest one was the right front - you have to thread it through the engine bay, but not really that difficult.

Since you are going to purchase SS lines anyway here is what I would do.

Take one of each of the ruber lines to a place in Decatur, GA called A-performance. He makes lines on the spot. Make sure to take one of the old hard lines with the course thread as well. Tell him you want them just like the samples but with the course threads on THE one end (Mark This End).

He has done this for us for 10+ years now. Should be around the same price as the kits you have found on the internet.

That is correct.

We are saying there are two ways to do this.

Have the hose made with the 80 thread on one end and the SE on the other.

the second option would be to remove the 80 Brake Master Cylinder and brake hard lines entirely and replace the MC and lines with the ones from the SE.
