GSL-SE tire and spring help needed
Ok I have done a search for the last hour and still have not found the answer I need.
I want to know who has what springs/shocks and what size tires?
I have a set of 15" wheels (PS) and about ready to buy the Tokico blues with the RacingBeat springs.
Ok, so would I be able to run a 205-55-15 or could I run a 215-50-15?
Help!!!!!! My front shocks are stock (172k) and the rear
Illumina's are trying to keep the 225 50 15's off the wheel wells.
Does anyone make a set of good springs that keeps the car stock height?

Most times stock RX-7 springs are so sagged, that aftermarket "lowering" springs actually raise the car.
I remember when a buddy installed a set of brand new Mazda springs the other year, his car was so high it wasn't even funny lol. Brand new stiff shocks have a similar effect.
I don't think the RB springs are as low as you think, they're probably pretty close to where your car is now.

Back when I ran a 80LS (SA22) in CSP class SCCA-SoloII, I was running Racing Beat springs and Tokico blues, ride height was reduced by about 3/4" front and rear, and 14x6 wheels. Tire size was altered between everything from 185/55/14 front, 195/55/14 rear which didn't work out well (balance), to what I settled on which was 205/60/14 all around. This resulted in rub at the front wheels during hard cornering, and also chopped the tire sidewalls from the metal rims on the insides of the fenders before I learned the trick to use a baseball bat to 'roll' the inner fenders to clear the rubber.
I currently drive an 84SE and have 14x5.5 wheels, running 205/60/14 AVS and these fit great. Same suspension from the racecar. No clearance problems, and the ride height is just about right. HTH,

Thanks
Tanks for the input. I guess nobody is running 15" wheel on their 7 with after market shocks and springs.
What is really strange is the driver side front saggs more than the passenger side. I guess it is due to there is always a driver in it and hardly a passenger.

Felix Wankel and branca thanks for the input.
Currently I have 225 50 15 on the GSL-SE now with no rubbing until I hit the brakes or a bump then the front driver side rubs the top of the fender. The tires do not rub when I turn at all.
I really like the look of these tires but once I put new springs on the car I think it might rub alot. Someone said that my stock springs are so old (171k) that a new set of springs might raise the car.
Now i am thinking about Eibach springs, keep my rear Illuminias and get the front Illuminias.
Felix - Email me your exact setup. I know your car and can not afford the coilovers.
Here is a pic with the 225 50 15 tires minus the center caps on mine.

Do you know your offset and backspacing? Your setup looks just like mine, but I can't remember those two things.
I get asked a lot too.
