gsl-se spring replacement

GA gsl-se spring replacement

I have searched and i cannot find any pictures or info on how to pull the front springs out of a gsl-se. i know about needing spring clamps but i cant figure out how to get the lower piece unbolted. i have gotten the top 4 nuts and the center nut taken out. Any pics would help! thanks

You need to remove the two 17mm bolts attaching the lower control arm to the bottom of the strut. Note that 1 is longer than the other. Make sure they go back on in the proper place. Pry the lower control arm down and slide the bottom of the strut out. You should have the center nut or the spring compressors on so the springs do not pop off and injure you. The assembled strut is heavy. Careful not to drop it on your foot. Haven't finished the labels, but there are more pictures here.

Make sure to snug up the bolts good and snug when you put them back on, I had one fall off the other week which was no good. I luckily was near home when it happened.
