GSL-SE to GSL back to GSL-SE

I was checking out the original title to my Rx7 and its says that the car came with a 1.3 13B. Which would explain the GSL-SE badging. It looks like the car was hit bad at the rear passenger quarter panel and I guess whoever had the car before me switched everything to 12A set up, though I don't know why anyone would do that.

I have an SE engine, SE transmission, oil pan, and a SE cross member as well as a entire SE suspension , with the SE wheels. What else would I need to switch everything back to make the RX7 a SE again?

I haven't been able to find any of the wiring components yet. It seems as though finding a SE wire harness (in good shape) will be the toughest find. I think that I will also need different, or modified motor mounts too.

Your easiest way is to use a GSL-SE cross member but its not hard to modify a 12a cross member to fit, you have the option of going carburetor on the 13b, its old technology but can make good power, are you looking to be all stock or modify the car

I've had all the SE components for a while now, but a couple things have been holding me back from changing everything over. I been waiting for my 12A to kick the bucket but I can't tell how long that's going to take it's still running strong. I haven't been able to find all the electrical components for the SE swap yet. I have also been considering a TII swap. With the idea of a TII swap in mind, a TII engine would have more power, but since I have almost all the SE parts I have decided to stick with the SE setup. So what I'm looking for is to switch everything back, but to have the power of a TII set up. So some modifications would have to be made. If going with a carburetor will save me the headache of searching for and rewiring the car then that's the route I will take with this project.

What's the VIN on the car? That should tell you for sure if it was born an SE or not. Check the VIN at the door jamb or the firewall. The one on the dash could have been changed. This will give you an idea of what you may need to do as far as wiring and so on.

Wow. Thanks. You beat me to the punch finding that on ebay. For the second time in two months I have a flat tire because of a bad wheel...... Thanks again.

OK-
Here's the VIN# JM1FB331XF0863780. I pretty sure that the "1X" in the vin is the engine code for the 12A engine. So if it did have GSL-SE 13B then I wonder how much of the GSL-SE wiring is left. I have a feeling though that the title is wrong about the car originally having a 13B 1.3.

Yes, that is a 12A VIN. The SEs start with JM1FB332. So it looks like it was a 12A car. Someone just put GSL-SE badges on it. I figured that was probably the case since I don't think anyone would swap the engine, suspension, and so on to 12A. It does sound like you have most everything to make it an SE. You might as well if you have the time to switch everything over.

I have just found a complete, uncut, bumper to bumper GSL-SE wiring harness with an SE ECU. So now all I have to do is rent or find a gargage to do all the work in.
