GSL-SE Fuel Return Plugged at the rail?
GSL-SE Fuel Return Plugged at the rail?
So I'm going through fuel pressure tests to trouble shoot a high rpm hesitation - and I'm kinda sick getting 12 mpg.
75 psi with the pump deadheaded - great. Splice in a tee connector and I get 75 psi at idle - not so great.
I didn't exactly want to rule out the pressure regulator right away, pulled the return line off and I can easily blow through it. What got me was that the line was dry when I pulled it off - I can jumper out the fuel pump and run it for minutes and nothing ever comes out of it
So - is my problem with the regulator or is it the mother of all clogs?

Hmmm, Well I never changed it, but I've had to make pick up plenty of slack from a sloppy engine change.
Right now the fuel input is connected to the hose up front, with the return behind it.

Looks like that was my problem - changed the regulator and had my injectors cleaned & refurbed at a local drag racing shop and I'm up to 22 mpg now.
Which means the 7 gets about the same mileage as my daily driver...
