GSL-SE FI questions (we'll start with the throttle body)

So, Ive been having problems with my -SE since who knows when...
Ive finally got the GS almost under control but the fuel mileage with the weber is prety bad.
Ive decided that Im gonna get the -SE running good and drive it daily since its a bit easier on me at the pumps...

Problem is, the car isnt running well. I have an inconsistant idle and the car stalls out every once and a while.
Ive read for hours, tinkered with the car for months: adjusted/tested TPS, AFM, BAC valve, checked over vacuum line routing, adjusted everything back to as near stock settings as possible.

In an unrelated attempt to clean up the sticky 5+6 ports, I pulled the intake, and found a crapload of carbon in it. I cleaned the LIM / Port sleeves up real good and got everything feeling nice.

As Im putting it back together I decide to inspect the throttle body closely. I found that the carbon was not only in the intake but made its way all the way back to the TB butterflies. I cleaned it up and now you can actually see the gap between the butterfly and the TB housing. I assume that was the problem as the carbon would totally mess up the flow at idle.

Now heres my concern, Im sure someone has messed with the throttle stop screws because the new big gap just seems wrong. While I think this probably was part of my problem..Im worried that since its now clean it might cause a new problem.

Ive looked, but cant seem to find anything... To set the butterflies back to factory settings does anyone know the amount of turn on the throttle stop screw, or a gap measurement for the butterflies? or at least point me in the right direction!

Thanks..this damn fuel injection system is frustrating...

Yah, I caught that...but that just shows you how to adjust the progression into the secondaries.

My problem is that none of the throttle plates close fully. There is a slight gap allowing air past the primary and secondary throttle plates.

Are these supposed to close fully, if not how much gap should there be????

I can set them to close fully with the throttle stop screws, but right now there is a slight gap...

The diagram at the top of the listed page shows how both sets of throttle plates are supposed to be set. The secondaries should be fully closed at idle. Follow those 3 steps and you should be good. Fine adjustment for idle quality is done with the screw on top of the dynamic chamber.

If that mess was in your mani and behind your throttle plates just think about what you fuel injectors look like. It may be time to send them out or do a fuel injection cleaning.

Haha, its funny that you mention it...thats also on the list.

Although its never had flooding problems, im sure after 190 KMs the injectors could use an overhaul.
