GSL-SE is Effed?
Ok i spent a bunch of money getting a lot of little things fixed on my car and when I was driving it home from the shop under hard acceleration there was a loud pop which I initially thought was my exhaust blowing a gasket because it sounded like there was a hole in the exhaust and there was lots of backfiring and almost total loss of power.
The car was basically running at less than half power and I thought I might have blown the engine although it was not overheating and there was no visible smoke or leaking fluids. I managed to shamefully limp it home.
The car acts like it is starved for air (I think) and I found that one of the rubber lines from the charcoal cannister (?) (black cylinder thing w/ 2 hoses) Had blown off and I replaced it but the car is still effed. I think it might be something in the vaccuum system but I really have no clue. It has no power, will die at idle, sounds like it has an exhaust leak, and the drivetrain is vibrating too much. NO smoke or anything out the tailpipe and no leaks. Any ideas?

Pull the trailing plugs and turn it over while listening to the puffs (ghetto compression check). Front rotor should pulse at the same rate as the rear rotor.
Verify that you still have your leading ignition too. Do this by checking for spark on the leading plugs. This also fits your description. Good luck!
P.S. I posted a link to a video in your other thread if you want to hear what a failing apex seal sounds like...

Hey, if you obsess over broken apex seals, sooner or later you'll experience it. How much is your peace of mind worth to you? What does a typical rebuild on a GSL-SE cost these days? I've never rebuilt one specifically for a GSL-SE car, so I don't know, but I have rebuilt 4 port 13Bs using GSL-SE rotating parts. It wasn't that much.

i ve got an extra SE engine in my garage im about to tear down soon w/about 130,000 on it if the internals are good im going to turbo it, it shouldnt take much to rebuild if everything is in spec that is, im most likley going to use new factory seals on it.
