Just put a GSLSE box in my 88 RX7. Previous owner of the box rebuilt it with an FC tailhousing. After it went in and I bolted everything up, I tried the gears and only had 1st and 2nd. No grinding, neutral is okay, but the shifter wont move out of the 1st to 2nd gate. Any clues to whats wrong and is there an easy fix? I don't want to pull the box and swap it again, but I will if I have to.

Sounds like to shifter arms might be misaligned. To fix this it will require the trans to be opened back up and the arms aligned. Not a hard job but very tedious.

 

Turned out to be the stops and lockouts in the shift tower. 5 minute fix. Whoo hoo.
