GSL-SE 13B Engine swap
GSL-SE 13B Engine swap
I want to swap a GSL-SE 13B into my 1977 Rotary Pickup. I have the complete motor, computer, and the wiring harness that goes from the engine to the computer. I noticed some other wiring connections/harness connected to the engine computer but did not get it (I would need to take the dash out to get it). Does anyone know if I need this other wiring harness and if so what does it do?
Another question. I also have a 1985 GSL. Will the brake calipers, backing plate, and brake rotors from the GSL-SE fit dirrectly on my GSL spindal?

the answer for your spindle question is yes.
for the se motor swap it would be alot easier to buy a rb upper manifold and put a sidedraft on it ( or holley
) or were you set on going efi?

I would like to keep the EFI for the simple fact that I already have it. I'm trying to keep cost down.
If I have to go with an after market computer to keep the EFI then sidedraft would be much easier and probably cost less.

There is a writeup in the archives on the TII swap wiring changes. Even though it's for an FB swap, it should give you a general idea what the other 2 ecu plug wires go to. You will need to use the repu oil pan and I know someone that's looking for and SE oil pan.
In all honesty, if you rebuilt and ported your 13B 4-port, you will pull a lot more power out of it than an SE engine.
