Found one finally! Guy wanted $2,000 a year and a half ago but it has sat and won't stay running. I'm looking to offer him $1,000 for it since it may take some work and nobody else seems to want it. Going to look at it in depth on Saturday. Any tips to see if I can get it to stay running when I go to see it and maybe test drive it? I was thinking of taking a bottle of octane booster or engine cleaner... ? Just thinking it's bad gas since it is fuel injected and he didn't have any problems with it before it sat.

Hopefully I can walk away with a good running SE for $1k.
Looks mint too so I really want it.

change the fuel filter and put seafoam in the gas tank then see how it runs maybe new plugs, I don't really think octane booster does much in stock motor rx's

Yea. I might take a can and see how the guy feels about me putting it in. Obviously it's not bad for it and I'm sure he'd really like to sell so I'll take a filter and sea foam put it in and then crank it up using the gas pedal to keep it idling hopefully to burn some gas and pull the foam into it.

Just read your thread and thought about doing that.

When I look at a car in this condition, I'm always carfull not to do something that my bring it back to life before buying it. There is always the chance they could refuse to sell it at a lower price since it is running. This is the gamble when looking at a dimond in the ruff. Look it over really good. If it starts on it's own good. I always save the tinkering till after the deal is made and cash and title have exchanged hands.

True... hmm... damn. I want to sink my teeth into it. It's too good to pass up. At the same time I need to be smart with my money and not blow it on something I'll have to throw money into to even enjoy or get use out of. My truck needs a transmission too.
