GSL-SE to 12a swap

Anyone done this?

Hypothetically, lets say you have a GSL-SE tub. No drivetrain, no suspension. What's involved in swapping the drivetrain and suspension from a 12a car into said tub? I assume the suspension bolts right up, along with the rear axle and trans. Is the crossmember (and/or engine mounts) different? How about the wiring harness? Any other peculiarities?

engine wiring harness would definitely need to be swapped. Hell, I had to swap that from my 85 12a into my 83 car (off of 83 12a). I think mechanically it would be fairly easy. If you had most of the wiring harness you should be able to get it to work without too much hassle.

would the fuel tank need to be swapped? Does the 'SE have an in-tank pump?

Nope, both external pumps. You would need a lower pressure pump. Either the stock 12a or an aftermarket one.

If you eliminate the rats nest, you can eliminate most of the wiring harness too, pare the engine down to carb & ignition only.

Unfortunately, the rats nest has to stay. Basically, the car would have to be emissions legal post swap, with all stock engine controls maintained.
