I use Castrol Synthetic 75w90 gear oil with Ford friction modifier. Use this combination in both the tranny and diff. Transmission shifts like new and the Diff is quiet and there is no chatter. The car has 189,000km's and I have never had a problem using this combination in my car in the 10 years that I have owned it

Im with Northern 7 on this. Royal Purple works great. I have 75-90 in both the trans/diff of my SE. No more heat coming from the trans tunnel. "Feels" much better than Redline did although Redline is in the EP car we run. I noticed fuel mileage went up by .5 mpg and it just wanted to "go" easier on the RP.

where do yall find redline 75w-90? i cant find anyone who stocks it. ive been using moble 1 synthetic for the last 4 months, and my lsd is feeling like its not as good. a friend recommended redline, and after reading this thread, im sure thats the way i want to go, but i cant find it. any help?

I found it local by asking around. It takes a bit of questioning, but I found it at a small race shop on the edge of town. Just ask around everywhere that they service cars and eventually someone will know where to find it.
It cost me 40 canadian pesos for 2qt, a little expensive, but that was after tax and it's well worth it.

Canola oil is bad for you. It goes rancid in a heartbeat. But I am a little curious about the extra virgin olive oil.
I put some cheap valvoline 80w90 in my tranny. It doesn't seem to scratch 2nd any more.

If you think about it, auto trannies operate under much worse conditions than manuals.
