GS->GSL difference question

GS->GSL difference question
Ok, I used to own the aviator car I have...a black GSL '85. I then traded for a undamaged '84 GS(swapped all my goodies ofcourse 
bridgeport and everything else) and had a GSL rear to put in soon after.
The question is, does stock GSL's come with stiffer lower springs then the GS's and other lesser models? It rides higher in back-and-front too I noticed. OR maybe, is this just that the GSL I had more settled springs since it had considerably more miles on it? But the GSL also seemed to have less body role also.
