NC GS emblem on 1983?

Did the 1983 RX-7 GS have a GS emblem on the rear driver side?

My '83 GS does not have one but I saw an '84 GS in pull-a-part which did have one and it was secured with adhesive like the pillar ones on my old GSL (rip). I suppose my GS could have fallen off before I purchased it but I don't want to put one on if it doesn't belong.

Sorry if this has been asked before, search kept dropping GS from my search results because the word was too small and adding quotes ("GS emblem") did not result in a suitable answer. Also, under the 1st gen FAQ where it mentions the differences between years many of the links to other sites don't work anymore.

I've got a 83 gs with no badge as well. Snagged one off an 85 but have yet to put it on. Held it up there and it looked funky with the black mazda badge on the pass. Side.

for 1981-1983 model years, in the US, it works like this.

every car gets the front and rear MAZDA, badges, and the fender Rx7 badges.

the S and GS get nothing more.

the GSL gets the 81-83 square chrome GSL badges on the b pillars.

the limited edition gets the limited edition badges on the b pillar.

for 84-85 this changes,

the S is blank, every other model gets a badge on the left above the tail light, GS, GSL or GSL-SE

outside of the US this is different, as they either didn't have different models (europe) or have completely different models (japan, GT, GT-limited, etc)
