grounding

i have been looking to see if what i did is wrong or right. i was doing some grounding. and was wondering the black wire that goes as a ground n the back of the battery, when u upgrade the alternator can u keep that black wire on and then add 4gauge wire right behind it to the battery?

Theres no ground from the alt to the battery. The black wire to the battery is positive 12v hot. You could piggy back another wire on it if you think its necessary.
