ground strap.

Where does the ground strap in the right rear above the muffler connect to? It's just hanging there on one end.

Well, that makes 3 people that even know there was a ground strap from the muffler to the body, lol.

I've seen it there too! What is the purpose of grounding the exhaust?

There is no point in having it. Mine has been disconnected for however long. But, you don't need. If it bothers you that much, get rid of it.

Thanks guys. If it's there, it's probably there for a reason.

Past tense. If it's there, it WAS probably there for a reason.

It's an old, old car. Back then, auto manufacturers did their best to cover their *** and ensure things went smoothly. I asked my rotary tech about the same strap. Y'know what he said? Don't need it. 'Nuff said.
