Exclamation ground cable shake loose scary story!!!

im pretty sure this is what happened...i installed a new oil pressure guage and took the ground cable of my battery..when going out for a drive after that i just threw the ground back on the battery not sqeezing it down like i usally do (the bolt broke so i pinch in on with pliers) so well i did this pulling out my drivway i need to give it alot of gas because i live on the first house off a main road adn people turn onto it at 40 so i gunned it shift into second and all of a sudden as i shifted i hit red line then everythign in my car cut off radio, lights,, dash lights flickered,,and my car kept driving so by the time all this happend i was in 3rd in the red line..well my stret speed is 25 so.........i am left hailing towards a speed hump at around 40-45 i turned off the car slammed on the brakes pulled into a driveway sat for a second then tryed to turn on my car adn nothing at all... i went off crap sounds liek battery cable is loose because it does the flickering thing and not start when the cable is loose.........has anyone ever had there gas stick because of the battery cable coming loose...???? once i tighened it down as always it worked fine and has been for a few weeks now....so wtf???

top 'o third is near 90 mph, FYI

Just a coincidence that the throttle stuck wide open.

Was the throttle really stuck open, or was the tach just buried? If you lose your ground like that, most of the gauges will go to 100% (I'm pretty sure).

Regarding the tach, something similar happened to me (but it was because alternator was dying)... all the gauges went mad, like the tacho was jumping all over the place, but the engine was actually running low rpm's smoothish..
