Greasing rear wheel bearings
For people that have lubricated the rear wheel bearings, did you need to pry off the seal on the bearing to put the grease inside of it?
I just payed a lot of money and had to take time off work to get the bearings pressed on the rear axles and really don't want to mess them up. The guy at the shop, said that I need to remove the seal off of them to grease them up.
Just wanted to double check with everyone before I start to pry on the seals.
Thanks in advance

The factory service manual says to install the oil seal and then apply grease to the oil seal lip then install the shaft. Page 9-10

This picture is with the old bearings still installed. But i'm actually talking about the orange seal around the bearing itself. The guy at the driveline shop told me that I need to pry it off to grease the inside of it. Everywhere else i've seen people just try to stuff grease through the cracks until it comes out the other side...

That is independent of the seal on the BEARINGS, which are sealed non-servicable units.
You do NOT pry the seal up to put grease in. You will destroy the seal if you do that. The bearings are lubricated and ready to go as-is.
