Granny's speedshop 8.8 rear with t2 transmission in fb

Hey guys I have a 84 fb with a 12a that I want to put a granny's 8.8 rear into with a t2 transmission and eventually either a turbo2 engine or a rew. I will be using the racingbeat engine bracket when I swap the motors. I am aware that I would have to make a custom driveshaft to mate the turbo2 trans and the granny's diff. I would like to bolt the trans and diff up to the 12a motor for the moment. Being that I wouldn't have the 13b engine for a while.my question is would I have to make a different driveshaft for when I swap out the 12a and drop in the 13b. Or will the drive line be the same length from transmission go back. I am aware that the 13b motors are about 20mm longer than 12a's but with the racingbeat conversion mount bracket would that just move the engine forward and keep the backplate/transmission mating position. The same? Or does the entire assembly move forward ? Thanks for any input.

After looking at this more, I think you might be good to go with adding the rear and TII trans now.

You would use the 86-92 Turbo front yoke and then whatever rear flange the new rearend needs.

The RB mount will move the 13b motor to be in the same position as the original 12a. So wherever you mount the TII transmission in the car with the 12a motor, it should wind up in the same spot with the 13b motor and the RB mount adapter.

Yes, you need a custom driveshaft with a TII front yoke and a Ford 8.8 rear flange at a custom length.

If I was you, I'd swap the transmission and rear end in and make the driveshaft once. Don't put the transmission in and make a shaft to the stock rear end, then have to make another driveshaft later to the Ford rear end. Do both the transmission and rear end at the same time, worry about the motor swap later.

I did a video on this subject a while back, feel free to give it a watch.
