Got the Rx running!

After months, she turns over and barks! i got her to start up before, but she mainly sputtered and died. Now she holds and I have just a few quirks I need to work out.

Running vacuum advance from sidedraft manifold to the nipples on the dizzy, would this solve my problem of hesitation when I push the gas?

Where is the water temperature sensor? There is no telling if the car is overheating or not (today I used a laser temp thing) Is the 79 12a different from FB 12a's? I was told by Bad83 that the oil system is different, hence the oil pressure gauge stock, but my temp gauge says flatlined. I think it comes out above the leading spark plug on the rear rotor.

Sputtering and missing when she runs. I put 5gallons in and a wee bit of oil. Does anyone know of any rotary carb tuners around Charlotte? I have the OER 45 on, and dont know the Idle mix screw turns, so I put it at 2.5 out and it seemed to stop the skipping somewhat. She idles fine at 750

How hard is it to repair sagging headliner, or is this a professional job? It is coming down/off around the sunroof area.

Thanks to all, Pics will be up soon when she runs great and I get her cleaned

The water temp sensor for the gauge is right below the oil filter in the rear iron. Its a single prong sensor. On the FB rear iron, the oil pressure sensor is right beside it.

Another way to find the sensor (and even pics of it): It's right next to the search button.

Since I went to big 2 barrel carbs many years ago, I have not used a vacuum line on the distibutor.

Adjust spark timing for 24 degrees leading when holding throttle steady at 3500 to 4000 rpm.

You need to learn how to drive the big 2 barrel, it is not the same as a 4 barrel. When opening the throttle, you must very slowly open the first little bit, or the big 2 barrel will bog. Most all big 2 barrels on rotarys need to have the accelerator pump setup to deliver a huge shot of fuel when the throttle is opened in order to reduce the bog. Having float level perfect is also important to reduce the bog.
