Are the bowls filled above the halfway mark?
I think you're flooding wildly.
If the bowls are full you'll need to tap over top of the needle seats with the plastic handle of a screwdriver.
This is a very usual problem with rebuilds- the needles and seats have a matt finish on them and they need to burnish themselves smooth so they slide easier.
If you are not having this problem, then I think you may just have flooded it.
Remember, with the mech. sec.s I do the AP moid, which gives a greater shot of fuel.
No need to be pumping that pedal! She'll flood for certain. The AP has about 30% more volume than stock, and streams right on through to WOT.
Leave it set for 15 minutes.
Pull the choke out (which in your case only has the fast idle linkage hooked up), and that should set you into the main circuit running. DON'T PUMP IT.
Try starting it like that.
When you get it running, let it warm for five minutes and slowly let that **** out.
The mixture is set close to factory, but the idle is set purposely high.
Simply lower it, and then adjust the mixture.
Only do this after the engine is warm, or you'll be chasing your tail.
