and of course they dont give you a targa roof....it was an option in '78 and '83 to go with the "limmited" and "limmited eddition" its like adding a spoiler to your car (at lest most of the rice spoilers) or side sils.

Yeah, its decoration but makes your street 7 look amazing esp w/ a front air dam & spoiler. W/ a sun (moon) roof it's almost like the real thing. Have one on both mine.

The one-piece units look much better IMO.

Well, lucky for you as the one-piece units are an ultra-rare dealer-installed item and fetch a much higher price than the aftermarket "Targa 7" units.

The three-piece units attach with sheet metal screws through the roof, and the one-piece units are just stuck on with some really aggressive double-sided tape.

I thought the "Targa 7" ones were factory and the one piece units were aftermarket. I like the 3 piece on better too. It looks more like a factory unit than the one piece.

I only wish I had the money for it. I love those.

ya, the "Targa 7" was the factory piece...i have a friend who used to work for mazda and they came with the car, but remember that there were 2 years the Targa was offerd...78 and 83....they could both be factory...just different years
