Got my awesome new clear taillights!

Hey Guys,

Some of you folks who've been here as long as I have might remember IoTus (Geoff) and his awesome blueish-green turbo 1st Gen

Well one of the things I always found most awesome about the look of his car were his clear taillights. When Dan Atkins started selling clear corners, I jumped at the chance to get them. Once they were on though, I felt like I was missing the crowning piece, the taillights!

And through an amazing feat of amazingness, I ran into Geoff on MSN one day, and he agreed to make me set number 3 of his incredibly limited-edition clear taillights (Set 1 is on his old car which I believe is owned by the Codeblues now, and Set 2 is on DirectFreak's super-mega-awesomemobile).

They arrived Friday by post and they were installed today and I've gotta say I'm totally stoked about them. They're super-incredi-awesome.

And the Dan Atkins clear corners compliment perfectly.

You'll have to forgive the pics, my digicam doesn't deal with direct sunlight well, so one set of pics is sunbleached, and the other set was taken when the sun was almost set.

*smiles*

Now all that's left are my '83 LE rims and a new paint job and the look of my car is complete. Though the rims I have now are still pretty kickass (thanks trochoid)

So yeah, big thanks to IoTus (Geoff) for the awesome tails.

Jon

this is set #1 for me and my second set are in my wifes brothers car. I left the red reflector in ours to keep us legal with needing a red reflector on the rear of your car. Thanks to his wonderful instructions on car domain, step by step.

Unfortunately I don't think he's going to be "going into production"... he doesn't even have a 7 anymore, it was more like a personal favor I asked of him... but you never know. I'm sure he'll read this thread at least and get pumped from the good reactions

Yeah, I think I needed the reflector.... but we'll see if I get stopped. I asked Geoff to leave it off... We'll see if I get stopped for it or not. I can try and change it later if necessary.

I have had clear set taillights for my 85' Rx-7 for a while now. When I purchased them I was just looking for a regular stock set and just happened to find clear set. However this set is too clear. When assembled, the plastic pieces that are hatched(underneath the lense) were left out. So I have a couple options, I could remove the lenses and install those hatch marked pieces or buy another set which I would prefer to do because one lense is damaged. I'm running LED bulbs with these taillights and they would better with the clear taillights that are assembled complete and correctly. So if there's another set out there that I could buy, that would be great.

.......vipernicus your Rx-7's taillight set looks great along with the clear corners. I've had the same plan as far as the corners go.

im glad youy so excited about them. but honestly they dont do anything for me. dont get me wrong, im not saying he did a bad job, ive just always been discusted by clear tail lights, and i dont think they go with the car. although they dont look as bad on a light car as they would on a dark one.
